South Sudan<\/h6>\n

In South Sudan, we have made contact with another school in Isohe \u2013 St. Augustine secondary school. Through a new contact person (Father Ben Louis from Maryknoll), we supported 15 students with housing and education ($1500). We have\n also covered some of Father Ben\u2019s travel expenses in getting the resources to the school ($500).<\/p>\n

Cambodia<\/h6>\n

In Cambodia, the nuns have started a project to provide toilet facilities for children of<\/p>\n

factory workers in Lindalva Center, Pochentong. We will support this with $2000.<\/p>\n

Projects in 2021-2022\n
\n <\/h4>\n

During this period, Corona made it challenging to provide support, in particular in South Sudan. Moreover, both the chairman and the founder of the foundation passed away during this period.<\/p>\n

South Sudan<\/h6>\n

The school we supported in South Sudan was closed due to Corona and our contact person had left the region. Our assistance in this region stopped in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cambodia<\/h6>\n

In Cambodia, the projects were restarted during 2021 and 6 families were supported with toilets, a water pump and means to produce their own food ($1,700).<\/p>\n

No support was provided in 2022 due to personal circumstances.<\/p>\n

Projects in 2019-2020<\/h4>\n

The outbreak of Corona and the subsequent lockdowns made it difficult for our contacts to reach the locations where the projects were running. Nevertheless, we managed to support the projects in Cambodia and South Sudan.<\/p>\n

South Sudan<\/h6>\n

We continued our contribution to the education of five children from St.Kizito Boarding School\/Primary School, St. Theresa Parish in Isohe ($2110 in both years).<\/p>\n

Cambodia<\/h6>\n

In each year, 10 families have been given the means to produce food and 2 water pumps have been installed. The sisters who lead the project try to get the population to participate in the project by making their own contribution.<\/p>\n

Projects in 2016, 2017 and 2018\n
\n <\/h4>\n

In 2016 \u2013 2018 we have supported the following projects:<\/p>\n

1. Daughters of Charity, Takeo, Cambodia 2016 \u2013 2018: <\/strong>Children and Youth Community Development Services: mother and children in community.<\/p>\n

The Daughters of Charity\u2019s Children and Youth Community Development Services have been supporting children and youth from poor families in the district of Dounkeo, Takeo. Given the poverty condition of these students and children,\n the services offer much needed educational enrichment activities to complement the local government education and provide support to the families to meet basic needs for children vulnerable to malnutrition.<\/p>\n

We supported 50 mothers and 50 children with a total amount of $ 2150.<\/p>\n

P2. Fathers of Maryknoll, Isohe Parish, Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan 2016 \u2013 2018<\/strong>\n
School Support for Ophan Children. 2016-2017.<\/p>\n

The Parish of St. Theresa in the rural village of Isohe, Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan helps support St. Kizito Primary School with over 1700 children. St. Augustin Secondary School has three hundred students. Several local Sisters\n of the Sacred Heart administer the school with the support of a large staff.<\/p>\n

Many children attending St. Kizito Primary School are orphans. It is up to the Sacred Heart Sisters and Fr. Ben to find sponsors for those children to stay in school.<\/p>\n

The cost of tuition, fees, accommodations, etc. to keep one of these orphan children in St. Kizito Primary School is estimated at 6,100 ssp or 420 USD per child per year.<\/p>\n

At present we will support 5 students. $420 each, total $ 2100.r<\/p>\n

3. Beatrice Lisamula, Kakamega, Kenia 2016 \u2013 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Outdoor play equipment for pre-primary school children. Beatrice runs the school in a very dedicated way. She asks for equipment where the children can play and have physical excercise. In addition to the support for building of the\n school we support this additional request. This amounts to $ 920\n
\n <\/p>\n

Projects in 2015\n
\n <\/h4>\n

We supported continuation and extension of the 2012-2014 implemented projects in Cambodia, Laos and the borders of Birma, Laos and Thailand. (CBMHS1, CBMHS2)<\/p>\n

The projects aimed at eliminating human traficking and sexual abuse.<\/p>\n

Local authorities received training to integrate this in the community.<\/p>\n

The projects on mental health care were integrated in de existing health care structure and the mental health care program was extended to other health care centres.<\/p>\n

The projects are owned by “Daughters of Charity”.<\/p>\n
